Custom WordPress and WooCommerce plugins

Features built for your business when nothing off the shelf does the job. We have sold our own WordPress and WooCommerce plugins on CodeCanyon since 2019, so we build plugins to be maintained and updated, not just to work once.

What you get

  • Specification
  • Development
  • Compatibility
  • Security
  • Documentation
  • Ownership

Sound familiar?

  • The plugin you need does not exist, or only does half the job.
  • You stack three plugins to get one feature, and they conflict.
  • A plugin you rely on has been abandoned by its developer.
  • Your team does a task by hand every day that the site could do itself.

Who it helps

  • Stores with unusual rules

Pricing, product options, shipping or checkout logic WooCommerce does not offer.

  • Businesses with a manual process

Calculators, portals, approvals or reports built into your site.

  • Owners of an abandoned plugin

A replacement, or a maintained fork, that works with current WordPress.

What is included

  • Specification A written description of what the plugin does, agreed before we build
  • Development Built to WordPress coding standards, with settings your team can use
  • Compatibility Tested with your theme, your plugins and your WordPress and WooCommerce versions
  • Security Input checked, output escaped, permissions enforced
  • Documentation How to use it and how it works
  • Ownership The code is yours

Plugins we have built

Our own plugins are on sale on CodeCanyon: country-based pricing, conditional shipping and payment methods, bundle tables, bulk price editing, custom buy buttons, account approval and reCAPTCHA protection.

For clients we have built the seven plugins that run the Whitetail, Turkey and Fishing challenge sites of APEX Outdoor Rewards, and Codiffy Canvas, the product designer that runs on 1,795 products at AllStar Logo. We also built Guardian Shield Lite, the security plugin that runs on the sites we manage.

Built to be maintained

A custom plugin has to survive the next WordPress and WooCommerce update. We use WordPress’s own hooks and APIs instead of editing core or other plugins’ files, keep settings in the admin rather than in code, and write it so another developer can pick it up.

How it works

  1. Free call

What the plugin must do, and what already exists that could do part of it.

From you: Examples of the task done today.
  2. Specification and fixed quote

A written specification and a fixed price.

From you: Answers to our questions and a sign-off.
  3. Build and test on staging

Built and tested against your real site, on a private copy.

From you: Test scenarios and feedback.
  4. Launch

Installed on the live site when you approve.

  5. Maintain

Updates for new WordPress and WooCommerce versions, if you want us to stay on.

What affects the price

Every project gets a fixed quote after a free call, so you know the total before anything starts. These are the things that move it.

  • How much logic the plugin contains
  • Admin screens and settings
  • Integrations with other services
  • Compatibility with other plugins
  • Ongoing updates

Where we have done this

3challenge platforms on one system: Whitetail, Turkey and Fishing
  • Online store
  • WooCommerce
  • Custom plugins

Three hunting and fishing challenge platforms on one system

Challenge
APEX runs cash-reward challenges for whitetail, turkey and fishing, state by state. Every entry is scored differently, proven on video from a phone and checked by a marshal before it counts.
Result
Whitetail, Turkey and Fishing run on one system, across 35, 40 and 48 states, so a change made once reaches every site.
100 %page speed score across the whole website
  • Online store
  • WooCommerce
  • Custom plugin

Custom apparel customers design right on the product page

Challenge
AllStar Logo's old product designer was slow to load and froze while customers were designing, which cost the store a lot of customers. The site ran on PHP 7.3, so it could not even be updated.
Result
A 100 % page speed score across the whole website, PHP 8.5 and fully up to date, and customers finish their designs without the designer getting stuck.

Who owns a custom plugin you build for me?

You do. The code is yours to keep, change or hand to another developer.

Will the plugin keep working after WordPress updates?
