Cross-platform app or web app?

A progressive web app runs in the browser and can be added to a phone’s home screen: it is the quickest and most affordable option and needs no app store. A cross-platform app built with React Native or Flutter is installed from the App Store and Google Play, uses the phone’s features such as the camera, location and notifications, and shares one code base between iOS and Android. We recommend the lightest option that does what your users need.

An app is a product, not a one-off

Apple and Google update their systems and store rules every year, so an app needs looking after once it is live. We plan for that from the start, and keep the app’s data and logic in the same systems as your website, so there is one source of truth.

  • Updates after launch

Questions about mobile app development.

Do I need an app, or is a website enough?

If customers visit once or twice, a fast mobile website is usually enough. An app earns its place when people use it often or need the camera, location, notifications or offline access. We tell you which applies.

Can one app work on both iPhone and Android?

Yes. With React Native or Flutter, one code base produces both apps, which usually costs less than building two separate apps.

Will you publish the app to the app stores?

Yes. We prepare the listings and submit the app for review under your developer accounts, so the app belongs to you.

Can the app use my website’s accounts and products?

Yes. The app connects to your website or store through an API, so customers use the same account and see the same products and orders.

What happens after launch?

Apps need updates for new iOS and Android versions and store rules. We offer ongoing support so the app keeps working and passing review.
