Website and interface design

Clear, beautiful interfaces. We design websites, stores, dashboards and apps around what people need to do, test them as clickable prototypes and hand them to our own developers, so what you approve is what gets built.

What you get

  • User flows
  • Wireframes
  • Visual design
  • Prototypes
  • Accessibility
  • Design system

Sound familiar?

  • Users get lost in your site or app and contact support instead.
  • The design looked great in the mockup and fell apart when it was built.
  • Every new screen is designed differently from the last one.
  • Forms and checkout lose people halfway through.

Who it helps

  • Websites and stores

Pages and checkouts designed around the next step you want people to take.

  • Web apps and portals

Dashboards and tools that staff and clients understand quickly.

  • Products growing fast

A design system, so new screens stay consistent.

What is included

  • User flows The key tasks mapped step by step before screens are designed
  • Wireframes Page and screen structure agreed without distractions
  • Visual design Screens in your brand, for desktop and phone
  • Prototypes Clickable Figma prototypes to test before development
  • Accessibility Contrast, text size, focus states and touch targets designed in
  • Design system Components and rules that developers build once and reuse

Not included

  • Formal usability research with recruited participants (available as an extra)
  • Brand identity design (a separate service)

Designed with the build in mind

Many interfaces fall apart between design and development: spacing drifts, states are forgotten, the phone layout is improvised. Because our designers and developers work together, every design comes with its states (empty, loading, error, hover and focus) and its phone layouts, and the designer checks the build before it goes live.

Accessible by default

Good contrast, readable text, visible focus and large enough touch targets help everyone, not only people with disabilities, and many organizations require them. We design to WCAG 2.2 level AA from the first screen, so accessibility is not a costly fix later.

Example

This website and the shopper-facing designer in Codiffy Canvas were designed and built by the same team.

How it works

  1. Free call

We talk about the users, the tasks and what goes wrong today.

From you: Access to the current site or app.
  2. Flows and quote

Key tasks and screens listed, with a fixed quote.

  3. Wireframes

Structure agreed on the key screens.

    From you: Feedback.
  4. Visual design and prototype

Designs and a clickable prototype, revised with you.

From you: Feedback, and a few real users to try it if possible.
  5. Handover to build

Specifications and components handed to development, and the build checked by the designer.

What affects the price

Every project gets a fixed quote after a free call, so you know the total before anything starts. These are the things that move it.

  • Number of screens and user flows
  • Desktop, phone or both
  • Depth of the design system
  • Prototype testing
  • An existing brand or a new one

Questions about website and interface design.

Do you design in Figma?

Yes. You get access to the Figma files, including the prototype and the components.

Can you redesign part of an existing site or app?

Yes, for example the checkout, a dashboard or the account area, designed to fit the rest of the product.

Do you test designs with users?

We test clickable prototypes with you and, where possible, with a few real users. Formal research with recruited participants can be added.

Will the developers build it exactly as designed?

Our own developers build it, and the designer reviews the build against the design before release.

Is accessibility included?

Yes. We design to WCAG 2.2 level AA: contrast, text size, keyboard focus and touch targets.
